Immigration and Local Law Enforcement

My only goal as Sheriff will be keeping Bucks County safe. That’s why I oppose the current partnership between the Bucks County Sheriff’s Office and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

To be clear, I believe the United States must secure its borders, and individuals in the country illegally who commit serious crimes, such as drug trafficking or acts of violence, should be deported. That has been the standard practice in both Bucks County and across the nation for decades. Under my leadership, our office will continue to cooperate with ICE in those cases.

But the vast majority of people targeted under the Trump Administration’s mass deportation program have no criminal record. I will not divert Bucks County deputies from their core mission of protecting our communities to help carry out politically driven deportations.

This partnership has sown fear in immigrant neighborhoods, discouraging victims and witnesses of crime from coming forward - severely undermining public safety. It also exposes taxpayers to costly lawsuits tied to federal 287(g) agreements.

The truth is simple: the ICE partnership does not make Bucks County safer. It is a political stunt that wastes resources, erodes trust, and puts our communities at greater risk.

Domestic Violence Prevention

As Sheriff, I will make the enforcement of Protection From Abuse (PFA) Orders the Office’s absolute top priority. These Orders are lifelines for victims of domestic violence who deserve to feel safe in their own homes and communities. My office will treat every PFA with the seriousness it demands, ensuring swift service, diligent follow-up, and immediate enforcement when violations occur.

I will strengthen partnerships with police departments, the District Attorney’s Office, and victim-advocacy groups so that information is shared in real time and victims are never left without support. Deputies will be trained to respond quickly, document violations thoroughly, and use technology to track and monitor repeat offenders.

We will also expand outreach so that victims know their rights, understand the resources available, and have direct lines of communication with the Sheriff’s Office. By combining enforcement, coordination, and compassion, we will send a clear message: violations of PFAs will not be tolerated in Bucks County. Protecting victims and holding abusers accountable is central to the mission of justice and safety.

Firearm Safety

I believe in taking an evidence-based approach to firearm safety. That means rigorously studying the root causes of gun violence in our community and using the full resources of the Sheriff’s Office to address them. My focus is not on rhetoric, but on results - measuring what works, investing in proven strategies, and holding ourselves accountable for keeping Bucks County safe.

As Sheriff, I will work with law enforcement, public health experts, schools, and community leaders to identify risk factors before they escalate into violence. I will support data-driven training for deputies, improve safe storage and responsible gun ownership awareness, and pursue partnerships that reduce illegal gun trafficking.

At the same time, I believe in protecting the rights of law-abiding citizens. As Sheriff, I will do my part to ensure that those who wish to responsibly exercise their Second Amendment rights are empowered to do so. Under my leadership, the Sheriff’s Office will work to efficiently perform the criminal background checks required under Pennsylvania law prior to issuing or renewing a license to carry. We will ensure that the application and renewal processes are easily accessible for citizens across the county. We will take take proactive measures to keep firearms out of the hands of criminals, domestic abusers, and individuals prohibited by law - but we will not stand in the way of law-abiding citizens’ ability to secure a license.

Finally, I will not permit my deputies to use the dangerously defective Sig Sauer P320 or P365 pistol, which has injured many law enforcement officers and civilians across the country - and has been appropriately banned by several major law enforcement agencies and the United States Air Force.

Supporting Veterans

As Sheriff, I will ensure that Bucks County stands by the men and women who served our nation. Too many veterans face challenges with mental health, housing, and reintegration after service, and law enforcement must be part of the solution - not another obstacle. My office will work closely with the Bucks County Department of Veterans Affairs, local nonprofits, and the courts to expand diversion programs that connect veterans in crisis with treatment and support, instead of incarceration.

We will also prioritize hiring veterans within the Sheriff’s Office and train 100% of deputies to recognize and respond appropriately to service-related issues. Those who wore the uniform deserve respect, opportunity, and a justice system that honors their service while ensuring community safety.
